Real Estate Finance Solicitor
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Real Estate Finance Solicitor to join a well-regarded and client-focused law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified solicitor with recent experience in real estate finance who is looking to develop their career in a supportive, collaborative environment.
This is a permanent, full-time role based in the Central London area with flexible hybrid working options available.
Key focus areas:
· Act for lenders and borrowers on a broad range of real estate finance matters, including commercial and residential lending, development financings, refinancing, and portfolio financings.
· Draft, review and negotiate security documents such as legal charges, debentures, guarantees, intercreditor deeds and loan agreements.
· Conduct detailed due diligence on title, corporate and security matters, identify and manage risk and propose pragmatic solutions to protect client interests.
· Advise on and assist with completion, post-completion matters and enforcement action where necessary.
· Liaise with covenantors, trustees, funders, property managers, valuers, and other professional advisers to achieve efficient transaction progression.
· Maintain accurate file records, comply with the firm’s risk and compliance procedures, and ensure adherence to Anti-Money Laundering and regulatory requirements.
· Keep up to date with changes in property, insolvency and finance law and implement best practice within the team.
Key skills required:
Qualified Solicitor (min 3 years PQE) with recent experience in real estate finance or banking within a law firm or in-house legal team.
Strong technical knowledge of mortgage and security law, land registration, leasehold and freehold matters, and corporate security structures.
Demonstrable experience drafting and negotiating complex finance and security documentation with excellent attention to detail.
Good commercial awareness and the ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice to clients under time pressures.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of client care.
Excellent communication skills, able to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, lenders, brokers and third parties.
Proactive, collaborative team player with a commitment to continuous professional development and knowledge sharing.
Digital literacy, including experience with legal case management systems and Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with e-conveyancing portals is advantageous.
