Family Law Solicitor - Part-Time
Our client, a well-established multi-disciplinary law firm with offices in Preston, are seeking a proactive and experienced Solicitor to join the firm. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and compassionate solicitor with a passion for providing high-quality legal advice and client care within family law. The role can quickly build to full time, or the firm are happy for it to remain part-time hours.
Salary £40,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities in Family Law Solicitor Role
Manage a varied caseload of family law matters, including but not limited to divorce, separation, financial settlements, children’s arrangements, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and domestic abuse cases.
Provide clear, expert legal advice to clients, ensuring empathetic, timely, and effective communication throughout all stages of the legal process.
Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents and court applications relating to children, finances, and family arrangements.
Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and negotiations as required, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Conduct initial consultations, determine client objectives, and develop effective legal strategies in line with legislation and case law.
Liaise and negotiate with clients, solicitors, barristers, courts, and other third parties in a confident and professional manner.
Ensure full compliance with SRA, GDPR, and firm’s regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records and case files at all times.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of family law services through active participation in team meetings and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Essential Skills and Experience – Family Law Solicitor
Qualified solicitor - at least 2 years PQE
Demonstrable experience of managing a diverse family law caseload independently from initiation to resolution.
In-depth knowledge of family law, confident and independent in handling matters.
Exceptional organisational, negotiation, and case management skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities under deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an empathetic and non-judgemental approach to client relationships.
Meticulous attention to detail, pragmatic approach to problem-solving, and a high level of professional integrity.
Proficiency in case management systems and general office software; strong IT skills are essential.
Ability to both work independently and contribute collaboratively within a supportive team environment.
