Residential Property Solicitor
We are looking for an experienced and client-centred Residential Property Solicitor to join our outstanding and progressive law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional who is passionate about residential conveyancing, committed to exceptional service, and eager to advance their property law career in an inclusive and collaborative environment.
This is a permanent, full-time role based remotely.
Key Responsibilities in Residential Property Law and Conveyancing
- Manage a diverse caseload of residential conveyancing matters from inception to completion, including sales, purchases, transfers of equity, leasehold and freehold properties, and re-mortgages.
- Provide tailored, expert advice to clients regarding all aspects of residential property transactions, safeguarding their interests throughout the conveyancing process.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, transfer documents, and other associated legal papers efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct due diligence including reviewing title deeds, raising and dealing with enquiries, and identifying and resolving legal issues affecting property transactions.
- Liaise professionally with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, brokers, and other solicitors, ensuring proactive communication and efficient progress of cases.
- Ensure compliance with SRA, AML, GDPR, and firm protocols at all stages, maintaining accurate and complete client records in the case management system.
- Deliver clear, empathetic explanations to clients, providing excellent service and guiding them through each step of their property transaction.
- Participate actively in team knowledge-sharing, training, and the continuous improvement of the residential conveyancing department.
Essential Skills and Experience for Residential Property Solicitors
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with current experience handling residential property law and conveyancing matters in a law firm setting.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of the conveyancing process for freehold and leasehold properties, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, and new build transactions.
- Strong drafting, analytic, and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail and effective caseload management.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of translating complex legal points in a clear and supportive manner to all clients.
- Demonstrable commitment to high standards of client care and the ability to build long-lasting client relationships.
- Collaborative approach to working within a high-performing, supportive team environment, with a keenness for professional development.
- Proficiency in digital tools, including experience with legal case management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Membership of Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) or working towards is advantageous but not essential.
