Residential and Commercial Property Solicitor or Legal Executive

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 + benefits + flexible working arrangements
Key Responsibilities in Residential and Commercial Property Law
- Manage a diverse caseload of residential and commercial property matters, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, and new build transactions, as well as acquisitions, disposals, leases, and development work.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, leases, transfer deeds, completion statements, and all related property documentation in compliance with legal best practice and firm procedures.
- Provide clear, pragmatic, and timely legal advice to private individuals, businesses, and developers throughout the property transaction process.
- Conduct comprehensive title investigations, searches, due diligence, and manage Land Registry applications, raising and addressing enquiries efficiently.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, estate agents, lenders, third-party solicitors, developers, agents, and stakeholders to progress matters to completion.
- Accurately record and manage all matters on the firm’s case management system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements including SRA, AML, GDPR, and CQS standards.
- Support and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and contributing to the ongoing development of the property team.
Required Skills and Experience for Property Solicitors and Legal Executives
- Minimum NQ - 3 years' post-qualification experience as a solicitor, legal executive, or CILEX practitioner in residential and/or commercial property law, with proven ability to manage files independently from instruction to completion.
- Comprehensive knowledge of conveyancing and commercial property law, including freehold and leasehold matters, leases, acquisitions, disposals, landlord and tenant issues, and property finance.
- High level of competence drafting and negotiating legal documents with close attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a commitment to professional client care and stakeholder engagement both in-person and remotely.
- Strong IT proficiency, particularly with case management systems and the Microsoft Office suite; adaptable to remote, hybrid, or office-based work.
- Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Demonstrates initiative and willingness to contribute to firm-wide knowledge sharing and development.
