Residential Property Solicitor
Our client is seeking to hire a Residential Property Solicitor, who have a strong presence across the South and an increasing client base, you will play a key role in delivering expert residential property legal services within a friendly, ambitious, and flexible working environment. Key areas of responsibility:
- Managing a diverse caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, and new build transactions, from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion formalities.
- Providing clear, practical legal advice to individuals, families, and property investors at all stages of residential property transactions.
- Drafting and reviewing contracts, transfer documents, and all associated conveyancing documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation and best practice.
- Conducting and reporting on property title investigations, searches, and raising and responding to pre-contract enquiries efficiently.
- Liaising confidently and professionally with estate agents, lenders, brokers, surveyors, and other solicitors to achieve timely progress on files.
- Ensuring all files and client activity are fully recorded and compliant with SRA, AML, and GDPR requirements, utilising the firm’s case management system.
- Contributing positively to the team environment by sharing knowledge, providing guidance to colleagues, and actively participating in departmental meetings and initiatives.
Essential Skills and Experience for Residential Property Solicitors
- NQ - 2 Years post-qualification experience (or equivalent) in residential conveyancing, with the ability to handle your own caseload independently.
- Up-to-date technical knowledge of freehold and leasehold transactions, title issues, mortgages, buy-to-let, help-to-buy, and current SDLT/LTT requirements.
- Strong drafting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in producing and reviewing legal documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong commitment to client care and building trusted relationships with clients and referrers.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative property team, effectively prioritising to meet deadlines.
- Experience using modern conveyancing case management systems, Land Registry portal and online search facilities (training provided, if needed).
