Residential Conveyancer
We are seeking a Residential Conveyancer to join our property team, managing a varied caseload from inception to completion. The role involves handling sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity, providing technical guidance, and delivering excellent client service. It’s an ideal opportunity for an experienced conveyancer, senior paralegal, or qualified solicitor looking to grow within a collaborative, forward-thinking firm.
Key responsibilities:
Progress a personal caseload of residential property matters, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity; ensure matters move in line with agreed timescales and client expectations.
Prepare, review and draft transactional documentation such as contracts, transfers, priority documentation, replies to pre‑contract enquiries and requisitions on title; ensure accuracy and compliance with lender and firm requirements.
Conduct comprehensive title and file reviews, identify and address title defects, leasehold issues and other risks; escalate complex matters to senior colleagues where necessary.
Liaise proactively with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, surveyors, other firms and third parties to obtain information, chase outstanding actions and co‑ordinate transactions to completion.
Key skills and experience:
Proven experience as a residential conveyancer, senior paralegal, fee earner or qualified solicitor handling a broad range of residential property transactions within a law firm or conveyancing practice.
Strong technical knowledge of residential conveyancing including searches, title and leasehold issues, mortgage documentation, SDLT and completion accounting.
Excellent drafting and document review skills with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work within deadlines.
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing demands, manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision and meet client and lender timescales.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with clients and third parties.
