Conveyancing Assistant
We’re seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join our residential property team and provide essential support to fee earners. Within this role you will help progress conveyancing files, deliver excellent client service and provide administrative support to ensure smooth transactions from instruction to completion. Key responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day case administration and support for a personal or team caseload of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity; ensure files are kept up to date and matters progress in line with agreed timescales.
Prepare standard documentation and correspondence such as client engagement letters, ID and AML checks, information packs, basic contract bundles and completion paperwork; ensure accuracy and compliance with firm procedures.
Open, maintain and close electronic files on the case management system; ensure thorough file notes and document management, and assist with time recording and billing information.
Liaise proactively with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, surveyors, other firms and third parties to request documentation, chase outstanding actions and update stakeholders on progress.
Arrange and manage searches, obtain and check identity and source of funds documentation, and support fee earners with completion administration including preparation of completion statements and handling client and SDLT paperwork in accordance with regulated requirements.
Key skills and experience:
Previous experience in a conveyancing support or legal administrative role within a law firm, conveyancing practice or estate agency is desirable.
Good understanding of residential conveyancing processes and terminology, including knowledge of searches, mortgage administration and completion procedures.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional manner when dealing with clients and third parties.
