Key Responsibilities in Litigation and Dispute Resolution
- Independently manage a broad range of litigation matters including civil, commercial, and contractual disputes.
- Draft, review, and negotiate pleadings, witness statements, instructions to counsel, settlement agreements, and other legal documents as required for dispute resolution.
- Conduct case analysis, risk assessments, and develop effective litigation strategies tailored to individual cases.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations, ensuring clear communication of complex legal arguments and practical solutions.
- Maintain ongoing and transparent correspondence with clients, witnesses, barristers, and other parties throughout all stages of the litigation process.
- Adhere to SRA rules, regulatory requirements, anti-money laundering policies, and best practice protocols relevant to litigation practice.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative team culture by sharing expertise, supporting colleagues, and participating in knowledge development initiatives.
Essential Skills and Experience for Litigation Solicitors
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with proven experience managing a full litigation caseload.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil procedure rules, relevant legislation, and dispute resolution processes.
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail in legal documentation.
- Confident communicator, adept at providing clear and practical advice to a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and case management, demonstrating initiative and excellent organisational skills.
- Collaborative team player, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional development in the litigation sector.
- Competent in using case management systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
