Compliance Associate - Conveyancing

Our client, a leading property law firm, is in search of a diligent and proactive Compliance Associate to strengthen their compliance and risk management team. This is a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to play a vital supporting role in ensuring robust standards of legal and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced conveyancing environment.
Key Responsibilities in Conveyancing Compliance and Risk Management
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements across all conveyancing matters.
- Conduct regular file audits to identify and address compliance gaps, ensuring full adherence to SRA, AML, GDPR, and CQS guidelines.
- Support the ongoing development and implementation of compliance protocols, anti-money laundering policies, and risk assessment procedures.
- Provide practical advice and training to the conveyancing team on compliance best practice and regulatory changes.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of compliance checks, competency assessments, and remedial actions.
- Assist with due diligence and client onboarding processes, including KYC verifications and conflict checks.
- Contribute to incident management, helping to investigate, record, and resolve risk events and complaints.
- Build and foster strong relationships across the firm, promoting a collaborative and compliance-conscious culture.
Skills/Experience Compliance Associate - Conveyancing
- Previous experience as a Fee Earner (independent case management for at least 5 years) or within a prior Compliance role
- Good working knowledge of UK property law, conveyancing processes, and key compliance regulations (SRA, AML, GDPR, CQS) preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with a meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Clear and accurate written and verbal communicator, able to explain regulatory requirements to varied audiences.
- Proficient in the use of IT systems and case management software.
- Demonstrates integrity, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality.
