Salary £45,000+, with hybrid working available.
Key Responsibilities: Housing Disrepair Fee Earner
- Managing your own caseload of housing disrepair claims, including pre-action protocol, issue, and litigation stages.
- Drafting legal documents such as client statements, letters of claim, court forms, and preparing trial bundles in accordance with current legal standards and protocols.
- Maintaining regular and clear communication with clients, landlords, surveyors, experts, barristers, and third parties throughout the progression of housing disrepair cases.
- Assessing disrepair issues and gathering evidence including expert reports, photographs, correspondence, and tenancy documents to strengthen client claims.
- Utilising the firm’s case management system to update case files accurately, ensuring all activities comply with SRA, AML, and GDPR requirements.
- Providing straightforward advice to clients concerning their rights, responsibilities, and likely case outcomes in plain and accessible language.
- Engaging in settlement negotiations and attending court hearings, where appropriate and with required supervision or experience.
- Offering general administrative support.
Essential Skills and Experience for Housing Disrepair Legal Roles
- Experience as a fee earner within a similar role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to manage, prioritise, and progress multiple housing disrepair cases efficiently in a busy legal environment.
- Excellent attention to detail in all aspects of file and case management.
- Proficient IT skills, including working knowledge of legal case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrable commitment to high client care standards and professionalism in all interactions.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit legal team.
