Key Responsibilities in Residential Property Conveyancing
- Managing your own caseload of residential conveyancing files from initial instruction to completion, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity, remortgage, shared ownership and new build transactions.
- Carrying out title checks, drafting and negotiating contracts, reviewing searches, and raising or resolving enquiries efficiently and accurately.
- Liaising professionally and proactively with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and all parties involved to ensure smooth and timely progress on each matter.
- Ensuring compliance with SRA, AML, GDPR, and all other regulatory and internal procedures throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Delivering outstanding client care, clear communication, and regular updates to clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on legal case management systems and meeting all critical deadlines.
- Staying abreast of changes and best practices in residential conveyancing law and property market trends.
Essential Skills & Experience for Conveyancers in Residential Property Law
- A minimum of three years’ experience managing your own residential conveyancing caseload, whether as a qualified solicitor, licensed conveyancer, chartered legal executive, or through extensive relevant experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of conveyancing processes, property law, and standard forms and documentation for residential transactions.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and organisational skills, with high attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrable ability to manage priorities independently in a fast-paced environment whilst providing exceptional client service.
- Excellent communication, client care, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Proven track record of ensuring compliance with AML and risk management requirements.
