Litigation Solicitor Key Responsibilities
- Independently managing a mixed caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters, including supporting clients in matters including but not limited to; consumer disputes, landlord/Tenant Disputes, possession claims, debt recovery, partnership disputes, intellectual property disputes, contract disputes, general civil disputes with experience in building & construction disputes and general commercial disputes.
- Drafting, reviewing, and evaluating court documents, pleadings, witness statements, and other legal correspondence relating to disputes.
- Advising clients from initial instruction through to resolution, including representing them in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Liaising efficiently with clients, barristers, experts, and third parties to progress cases promptly and effectively.
- Ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) obligations in litigation cases.
- Keeping up to date with developments in litigation law, changes in Civil Procedure Rules, and practice directions to maintain high technical standards.
Essential Litigation Skills & Experience
- 2-5 years' post-qualification experience in litigation (solicitor or legal executive)
- Proven competence in running a litigation caseload from instruction to conclusion with minimal supervision.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil and commercial litigation processes, case management, and document drafting.
- Outstanding client care, communication, and negotiation abilities, adapting to clients’ needs from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Competence in using legal practice management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and autonomously when required.
- Experience in advocacy and/or willingness to undertake Court advocacy work would be advantageous.
