Key Responsibilities in Insurance Litigation
- Managing a varied caseload of insurance litigation matters including RTA, EL, and PL
- Drafting, reviewing litigation documents including pleadings, witness statements, expert reports.
- Providing robust, clear, and commercial legal advice to insurer and commercial clients throughout all phases of litigation.
- Representing clients at mediation, settlement discussions, conference with counsel, and court proceedings where appropriate.
- Liaising directly with clients, expert witnesses, adjusters, and barristers to ensure the highest standards of client care and case progression.
- Ensuring compliance with all SRA regulations, anti-money laundering requirements, and internal firm procedures in all insurance litigation matters.
- Staying up-to-date with developments in insurance law and litigation best practice, proactively applying learning to ongoing and new matters.
Essential Skills & Experience for Insurance Litigation Solicitors
- A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in insurance litigation, personal injury
- Demonstrated ability to independently handle a busy litigation caseload from instruction through to resolution.
- Strong knowledge of legal principles and procedures relating to insurance law, policy interpretation, and claims disputes.
- Exceptional communication, client care, and negotiation skills with individuals and businesses of all backgrounds.
- High level of drafting proficiency, analytical ability, case strategy, and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using case management software, digital resources, and MS Office applications.
