Our client is seeking a proactive, knowledgeable, and ambitious Private Client Solicitor to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will take ownership of their own caseload, delivering expert advice and exceptional client care. Private Client Solicitor Key Responsibilities
- Managing a full caseload of private client matters including wills, trusts, probate, estate & tax planning, lasting powers of attorney, and Court of Protection work.
- Drafting, reviewing, and interpreting legal documentation relating to private client law and estate administration.
- Offering clear, tailored advice to individuals, families, and elderly clients, ensuring matters progress smoothly to completion.
- Liaising directly with clients as well as external stakeholders such as financial advisors, accountants, attorneys, and HMRC.
- Overseeing all related compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and regulatory requirements for private client transactions.
- Staying abreast of developments in private client and tax law to ensure all work remains current and compliant.
Required Skills & Experience in Private Client Law
- A minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in a private client solicitor or chartered legal executive role.
- Proven experience independently managing your own private client caseload with minimal supervision.
- Excellent technical knowledge across wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, and powers of attorney.
- Exceptional client care, communication, and relationship-building skills with clients from all backgrounds.
- Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, and organisational skills.
- IT literacy and familiarity with legal practice management software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a busy and professional team as well as independently.
- Membership of STEP or working towards STEP qualification is desirable but not essential.
