Our client, a prestigious and well-established law firm near Yeovil, is looking to recruit a dynamic Private Client Solicitor to join their highly regarded private client team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated solicitor to advise a broad range of clients—including high-net-worth individuals and families—on complex private client, wills, and estate planning matters within a progressive, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities in Private Client Solicitor Role
- Providing expert guidance and legal advice on complex matters related to wills, trusts, probate, estate administration, powers of attorney, tax and succession planning, and Court of Protection work.
- Managing a varied caseload, including high-value and cross-border estates, trust structures, and inheritance tax planning.
- Drafting and reviewing comprehensive legal documents, including wills, trust deeds, lasting powers of attorney, and related correspondence.
- Delivering excellent, empathetic client service—liaising closely with clients, beneficiaries, executors, and third-party advisors to ensure their needs are met at every stage.
- Supporting internal initiatives to streamline processes, maintain compliance, and manage risk across all private client work.
- Collaborating with colleagues in property, corporate, and dispute resolution as needed on multi-disciplinary matters.
- Identifying opportunities to develop client relationships, support business development, and promote the firm’s outstanding reputation in private client law.
Essential Experience & Skills for Private Client Solicitors
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE in private client law.
- Solid experience in advising on wills, trusts, probate, estate planning, and related tax issues.
- Exceptional communication skills with a client-centred, solutions-driven approach and strong attention to detail.
- Track record of managing a personal caseload efficiently, with the ability to prioritise and progress multiple matters simultaneously.
- Knowledge of estate and trust administration and the broader regulatory and compliance framework affecting private client practice.
- STEP membership or progression towards the STEP Diploma is desirable but not essential.
- Strong IT skills, including effective use of legal case management systems and digital communication platforms.
