Dispute Resolution Solicitor
Our client, a leading dispute resolution law firm with offices in Birkenhead, is seeking a skilled individual to join their expanding Dispute Resolution team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Dispute Resolution Solicitor to handle a broad range of litigation and contentious matters for a diverse client base, while developing your expertise within a supportive, forward-thinking practice.
Key Responsibilities in Dispute Resolution & Litigation
- Managing and progressing a wide variety of dispute resolution matters, including contractual disputes, debt recovery, commercial disputes, property, and professional negligence claims.
- Providing practical, solution-focused legal advice to individuals, businesses, and organisations, with a view to achieving cost-effective outcomes.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating pre-action correspondence, statements of case, witness evidence, court documents, and settlement agreements.
- Representing clients in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes such as mediation, arbitration, and negotiation, as well as in court proceedings where appropriate.
- Liaising with clients, counsel, experts, and third parties, ensuring a high standard of client care and clear communication throughout all stages of the litigation process.
- Ensuring compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules, court deadlines, and the firm’s risk management protocols.
- Contributing to the team’s business development, networking, and marketing initiatives by building strong client relationships and raising the firm’s dispute resolution profile.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across other departments such as property, commercial and private client as required.
Essential Experience & Skills for a Dispute Resolution Solicitor Role
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience handling a range of dispute resolution and litigated cases.
- Proven ability to manage a personal caseload from initial instruction through to resolution, with a strong technical grasp of the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant law.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in managing client expectations and delivering clear, pragmatic advice.
- Sound negotiation and advocacy skills, with the confidence to represent clients at hearings and mediations.
- Strong organisational skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
- IT literacy and competence in using legal case management systems and standard office applications.
- A proactive, commercially aware approach, with the drive to contribute to practice development and client relationship building.
