Hours: 09:00 – 17:30, hybrid working, permanent role.
Commercial Property Solicitor Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial property matters, including but not limited to sales, purchase, acquisitions, disposals, leases (grant and renewal), assignments, development projects, auctions, landlord and tenant matters, and secured lending transactions.
- Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, leases, licences, agreements for sale/purchase, heads of terms, and legal reports.
- Ensuring all due diligence is thoroughly conducted, including title investigation, reviewing searches, and managing risk.
- Acting as a main point of contact for clients – delivering commercially focused, pragmatic advice to landlords, tenants, investors, lenders, developers, and business owners.
- Liaising directly with third parties including other solicitors, agents, surveyors, lenders, and local authorities to progress transactions in a timely and efficient manner.
- Compliance with all SRA and regulatory/AML requirements, ensuring accurate record keeping and completion of post-completion formalities such as registrations and SDLT submissions.
Required Skills & Experience for Commercial Property Law Careers
- Minimum of two years’ PQE in commercial property (qualified solicitors or experienced legal executives considered).
- Proven experience of managing an independent caseload of commercial property files with minimal supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of current commercial property law, practice, and market developments in England and Wales.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- A practical, business-oriented approach with strong commercial awareness.
- Outstanding client care skills and the ability to foster long-term client relationships.
- Confident communicator, written and verbal, able to adapt to a range of audiences.
- Organised and able to manage workloads, deadlines, and competing priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal practice/case management systems.
