Costs Draftsperson
Our client are a busy multi-disciplinary practice based in Preston City Centre who specialise in civil litigation cases. They have been growing their costs department and are looking to add a further draftsperson to join their successful and dynamic teams. You can expect development, progression and recognition. Salary: £40,000 - £48,000
Responsibilities:
The role involves management of a caseload to include drafting schedules and bills of costs, negotiating settlement, dealing with costs budgets and preparation for cost hearings.
Candidate Profile:
They seek a draftsperson with at least two years' exposure who possesses the following experience and characteristics:
Caseload Management: The ideal candidate should have a good foundation experience of efficiently managing their own caseload, demonstrating the ability to work autonomously.
Drafting Expertise: Essential to the role is a proficiency in drafting cost schedules, bills of costs, costs budgets, and all necessary supplementary documentation required for detailed assessment hearings.
Preferred Experience: Candidates with prior experience handling costs in civil litigation cases will be given preference. However, we are open to considering applicants with experience in other areas.
Key Tasks:
· Preparing Costs Budgets
· Drafting Bills of costs for assessment by the court
· Preparing Costs Estimates and Schedules
· Drafting Points of Dispute and Replies to Points of Dispute
· Negotiating with relevant parties
· Undertaking other duties reasonably required by directors or senior management
